New MCS Short Shots – Advance Orders

Adv Short ShotsOK, now that the next project has been determined, I will take Advance Orders for the New MCS Short Shots for a week to 10 days and give the early birds their deserved discount for jumping in early.  Release date is tentatively set for the weekend of July 5th-7th

Again, no details yet on the finished video, but it will of course include the very basics of the short game up to the more complicated.  Say, from putting up to bunker shots and why a shot from the rough is a bunker shot…

Faulty Premises – Sean Foley & Other Teachers

Foley1From PhraseFinder:

The version ‘a little learning’ is widely attributed to Alexander Pope (1688 – 1744). It is found in An Essay on Criticism, 1709, and I can find no earlier example of the expression in print:

A little learning is a dangerous thing;
drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring:
there shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
and drinking largely sobers us again.

The problem with solving a problem is that you sometimes begin with a faulty premise, at which point all of your problem-solving skills will go to waste.

A Couple of Days’ Rest (What’s Next?)

Open-GolfI probably won’t be doing much for the next couple of days as I take a mental break having completed and released the New MCS ‘Full Swing‘ Video.  It was the first one I got done on time with no delays or disasters, though the Formula went fairly smoothly as well.

Getting the mic really, really helped.  I prefer to deliver my videos in lecture/tutorial style, without a lot of pictures and lines – that stuff is fine to read on a blog, but when you’re learning the golf swing, there are no angle-measuring compasses and protractors, nor are there places you can freeze your swing and look at it.

Louis Oosthuizen – Modern Swing Injury #10,456

Louis+OosthuizenLouis Oosthuizen has withdrawn from the U.S. Open with a hip injury.  I don’t know how many injuiries like this have to befall the professional golf set before they start to seriously re-think this modern swing lunacy.

I have already looked at Oostie’s swing, back when he won the 2010 Open Championship at the Royal & Ancient.

U.S. Open Thread

?????????????????????How good did I feel today when I awoke to fog and rain?  I got most of my shooting done already and only have a few pieces remaining, which I can do tomorrow morning if the forecast holds up.

I would have preferred to wrap things up today and begin the final editing tomorrow, but that will likely be Saturday.  Luckily for me, this is an MCS 2.0-style video so very little heavy editing will be required.
