I’ve got a couple of swing video from the last week or so that I posted to Youtube just to update what I’d got there so far. I posted clips of swings with a 4 Hybrid, Driver and Driver Down the Line.
I’ve been shooting less and less blog video due to the fact that I’ve worked out everything I wanted to explore in the transition between the first MCS and the 2.0 version, but I’ll soon be shooting material for the 2.0 video.
4 Hybrid
*I used this 4 Hybrid on a tee shot last Thursday on a 345 yard Par-4 Hole. I hit my tee shot to the layup area slightly downhill, around the 100 yard marker and had about 80 yards to the green. I love this club off the tee when I can’t use Driver (in this case, a set-up that required flying the ball all the way to the green or losing it in a bog guarding the dogleg corner and the front-right green).

Meanwhile, I’m working on the presentation model for MCS 2.0 and trying to decide what the most comprehensive way to explain everything is without making it too long and unwieldy. There are of course file issues when dealing with a video download.
I imagine that most people wanting the 2.0 will prefer an instantly-available download format rather pay shipping costs and wait up to two weeks for a DVD to be delivered, which is why I’ll be sticking with the download format for now.

Hi, DJ, i have just found the Mike Austin method,i have the Shauger books and Dvd and your MCS video.I have watched your latest vids and wondered what the differance is to your new 2.0 version.
Thanks
Paul
Paul, that’s a good question. The answer, simply enough, is more and better stuff, after a year of review, analysis and feedback!
I produced the Smash Golf MCS video and manual last year mainly for the friends and Smash Golf blog followers who wanted me to put Mike Austin’s swing theory and mechanics into my own words, basically to say, “This is what Mike Austin was saying and doing.” According to my own opinion. It was my interpretation of Mike Austin’s swing method.
The MCS 2.0 is the next logical step, from explaining the swing from what I saw Mike Austin doing and what I heard him saying, to now my personal vision of the golf swing, explained and demonstrated with the drills and exercises that I’ve come up with to make the swing even easier to understand and learn.
It’ll likely be longer, since I’ll be going into the components of the swing in greater detail, with more video and analysis, and much more emphasis on how to learn the Fundamentals Trifecta and execute the the swing through the drills and exercises.
Thanks for the reply DJ, i am working hard on this method i have noticed a big increase in distance at the range with my irons, there is a 150 yard green at my range, which i normally reach with a 7 iron.i am a small man 5″5′ and only about 10 stone but now i am hitting it with my 9 iron.I struggle with the driver with the MA swing though. But i am going to stick with it as it makes a great deal of sense to me.
thanks
Paul
That’s pretty good power, Paul! Good stuff. Alas, it’s too bad you’re struggling with the Driver, which is the most rewarding club to hit with this technique. But as I said, I’m hoping to make the 2.0 video a ‘Windows XP’ to the original MCS’s ‘Windows 95′, to use a brand comparison. I’m sure you’ll find drills and exercises, should you be willing to give the 2.0 a try, that will increase your understanding of your swing and have you driving it the way you should be.
I learned a good deal about explanations and teaching methods with the last year, so I am really looking forward to working on and producing this next step!
Looking forward to it,i am a self confessed golf junkie so i will be looking at it.
Cheers
Paul
